A local developer approached the firm of THOMAS H. HUGHES ARCHITECTURE to assist him with a proposal he planned to make to a university. His concept was to utilize land near the university’s football stadium to locate a new practice space for football and indoor track. The building would consist of a large volume to enclose the field and a smaller one for spectators, dressing rooms, toilets, offices and other support functions. Barry produced a variety of architectural response for the presentation. While this proposal did not bear fruit, the developer worked with the firm to convert another industrial building for the indoor track venue.
