Thomas H. Hughes Architecture has a long history of providing support for Winston-Salem-based Lowe’s Foods grocery store chain. Working for a Raleigh-based developer, Parks was challenged to create a facade for both the grocery store and the adjacent
leasible tenant spaces on the previously undeveloped site. The grocery store incorporated a new design concept featuring a rotunda design at the produce area. This area opens to the outside through specially-vented roll-up doors. Parks also managed the construction drawings and specs for the grocery store upfit as well as overseeing construction.
